Souvenir is a page of about 6 minutes, of an extrovert character and very different from Legenda. 

The first part, Andante (bars 1 to 27), is rather impressionistic in character and should be played very subtly and with little vibrato, just the necessary.  In bar 28 (Allegro), the music changes radically to enter a joyful, folkloric and somewhat magical atmosphere due to the harmonic constants.  In measure 44 (4th beat) the first glissando (C# - D) appears. Then in bars 46, 48, 49 and 50. These glissandi have to have a fun and festive character but always keeping a lively tempo. In measure 64 the MM (crotchet = 152-154) is maintained. But it is important that it is expressive, as indicated. From 71 to 83 is an unstable section that must be played with strength and aggressiveness. The section Con forza e sostenendo (measures 84-94) is the climax of tension. The trills on double strings should sound dramatic and with the bow very close to the strings. From 106 to 110 Adagio is a moment of interrogation to enter the last section Andante molto espressivo (h = 90-92) with which we enter the last climax. This should be intimate and very sung. The ascending scale of bar 121 should be played very softly. It prepares the Meno, even more intimate and always softer.  The brief glissandi on the notes E and D (132 and 133) should be played very subtly and a quarter tone is enough.

Legenda, which also lasts approximately 6 minutes, is a very special work for me. There is a direct connection with the Allegro-Studio of the work Two Movements which I composed in 1965. Legenda is something that comes from afar, shrouded in mystery and subtle pathos. The simple theme of the opening Adagio should prepare this distant atmosphere and should be played without vibrato, sul tasto and almost naively.
