Rapsodia para piano y cobla (Rhapsody for piano and typical Catalan orchestra) (1953) stands out from Manuel Oltra’s other work, as it is his first composition for this combination of instruments.
Such was the success of this piece, and thanks to its wide variety of timbres, that in 2004 Manuel Oltra created another version for Piano y Orquesta Sinfónica (Piano and Symphony Orchestra), which was also published by Editorial de Música Boileau.
