Boileau Music Publisher, dean in publishing musical pedagogy works in our country, now puts the fruit of her long experience at the disposal of music education for Primary Education, with the six volumes that make up the School Pentagram series.

Its authors, Carme Amat and Anna Casanova, are perfect connoisseurs of the subject, since they have extensive experience in teaching music. In fact, they have already had the opportunity to capture it in the Musical Language Pentagram Elementary Grade (4 volumes) and Pre-language Pentagram books, also published in our editorial.

The School Pentagram consists of six volumes, each of which is perfectly adapted to the Primary Education curriculum of the corresponding course. The contents are presented with amenity and rigor, in a way that not only educates musical sensitivity, but also provides a solid base for those who want to study music in more depth in the future.

Each book contains eight units, each one of which is divided, in turn, into eight specific sections, with enough pedagogical material to work during the course, part of which is on the CD that accompanies each volume. Starting with School Pentagram 3, the student's book also includes an exercise book.

The eight sections mentioned are broken down as follows:

  • THEORY: Explanation of basic concepts of musical terminology.
  • RHYTHM, LISTENING AND WRITING: Identification and writing of musical symbols. Practice exercises to acquire a correct perception of the different rhythms and the regularity of the pulsation.
  • TUNE AND SING: Progressive introduction of the musical notes with their corresponding tuning. The section is complemented with popular repertoire.
  • ORIGINAL SONGS: Original songs by the authors in each unit. They are of very different styles and are recorded with and without melody (version "minus one") on the CD of the student's book. Grouped by themes that serve as a common thread.
  • MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS: Knowledge of the instruments of the orchestra.
  • AUDITION: Recognition of different instruments. Material recorded on the CD of the student's book.
  • DID YOU KNOW…: More knowledge and curiosities related to the world of music.
  • FLUTE: Varied exercises and flute songs. They are recorded on the CD with and without melody.


Each volume of the Pentagrama Escolar corresponds to a didactic guide for the teacher.
