The original version was written for organ because a conferences made by the author of El Vendrell and it was dedicated to the audience of those sessions. The compositive material came from a Catalan popular song El cant dels ocells (The song of the birds), really apreciated by the maestro Pau Casals. After, the piece was extended in the piano version, released by the composer himself in the C.M.M.B.
