The importance that Jordi Cervelló gives to his piano production can be reflected in some way in the dedication of the work Pensament (2007). The intense, painstaking work and the good agreement between performer and composer during the autumn-winter of 2007 led to the work appearing with the dedication to the Barcelona pianist José Enrique Bagaria. This is a romantic score in which a contemplative, cantabile opening section gives way, with an accelerando, to a passage with a dramatic and disturbing atmosphere. The work comes to an end with a return to the initial calm atmosphere.
After finishing the previous composition, Cervelló immediately set to work on this Intermezzo (2007), which he dedicated to the painter Lina Fenollosa, a friend of the composer. It is again a short piece in which we also seem to sense a certain influence of Frédéric Chopin's Nocturnes, which he was revising at the time. Unlike "Pensamiento" with its tripartite structure, "Intermezzo" always remains in a meditative mood built on an insistent triplet rhythm in an unalterable 6/8, a characteristic that accentuates its more homogeneous character.
