Blancafort, like many other composers, used material from his old compositions for new works. This was the case with these three pieces from different moments in his repertoire.
Thus we find Cançó d’Isabel inspired by the theme of the 3rd movement of his Quartet in C and premiered in Madrid by the ORTVE under the direction of Alberto Blancafort in 1963. Also, Pastoril, for which he also wrote a work for piano, this work was premiered in Barcelona in 1941 and re-released in 1957 by the Barcelona Municipal Orchestra conducted by Ricard Lamote de Grignon.
Finally, Gran serenata a l’Infant, premiered in 1978, of which there is a version for voice and piano with text by Josep M. López-Picó. This version for voice and piano was premiered together with two others by Catalan authors (Les vídues vulgars by Robert Gerhard and Madrigal by Jaume Pahissa) on May 24, 1930 in the Sala Mozart of the Club Femení d’Esports.
