A baby is born, Pau. In an expression of the utmost tenderness, we sing him a song. We have five fingers on our hand and it is an open door to the imagination that defines us as human beings, even when we play the piano. We travel back in time: what was there before him? The first hominids, cave-dwelling nomads, the dinosaurs, and even further back, the origin of life, the formation of atoms, the great explosion that created the universe! And then, we will still wonder what lies beyond the Big Bang. Returning to the present as if we were passing through a mirror, we will witness the birth of stars and galaxies. We will return to meet another child, but not in our world, but in a different one. One of the many possible worlds...
L'Univers a tocar is a poetic-musical and pedagogical work designed for students in the first years of the professional piano degree and for pianists interested in contemporary creation. It is made up of fifteen small pieces, all of them born from the suggestive poems of Lola Casas. It is a unitary cycle made up of four pieces for solo piano, two duos and nine pieces for groups of 4 to 6 pianists, divided between the keyboard and the strings of the same instrument. You will also find a set of ideas to introduce you to the world of free and collective improvisation.
