The experience that was gradually being built up in running children´s choirs made it clear that the hardest part was managing small children, partly on account of the pedagogical demands it makes, and partly on account of the need for a specific repertoire for them.
This led to meticulous research on that repertoire, beginning with the traditional Catalan repertoire and moving on into experiences from beyond our frontiers.
That was the origin, back in 1971, of 'L´Esquitx 4, for the very youngest' as the cover puts it.
For the second edition, the texts were carefully revised, since it was felt that some might reflect educational criteria that have become outmoded. This led to the song 'Voleu veure'' being replaced by 'L´eriçó'
