The structure of this third book is not conceived as that of the previous two, in which progressively progressed page after page. On the contrary, this volume consists of several well-differentiated parts, each of which contains different ways of working the fingers, as if they were three or four separate books that were studied simultaneously throughout the course.
The study plan of this book will work according to the following combination:
• Previous exercises.
It will begin, as in the previous books, practicing the exercises of the heavy notes, and it is also advisable to continue practicing some exercises of chopped notes. Continue with exercises for the practice of syncopation in black figures and with ligature, and continue with an exercise of varied rhythms.
• Afterwards groups of exercises of the First part will be alternated (Rhythms of tradition with the 3rd and 7th fingers), with another group of the Second part (Chopped wheelbarrow with tradition rhythms), since these are two differentiated ways of working the fingers that complement each other.
• Once practiced at the speed of the First period these two groups of exercises, corresponding to the First and Second part, will be re-practiced from the beginning, at the speed of the second period, at the same time as the reading of the works corresponding to the third part, which is constituted by a group of works, which alternate the rhythmic drawings with both hands and which, as in the previous books, include two speeds: the slower, and the definitive one, to a faster tempo.
At the discretion of the teacher, this third part can be combined with the previous ones.
• During the last minutes of each study session, the exercises of Part Four will be practiced. The practice of the "slipping wheelbarrow" will be resumed, which was already introduced on p. 40 of the Second Book. This fourth part is of extraordinary importance in this third book.
On p. 51 explains the progressive way of practicing it.
