The personality of Isaac Albéniz would contribute in an outstanding way to define —through his piano compositions— the essence of Spanish musical nationalism, exerting a great influence on composers of his time, among which the figure of the great pianist Joaquin Malats.
The closeness to the language of the guitar work of Joaquin Malats (especially his Spanish Serenade) has often provoked transcriptions that have allowed the guitarist to delve into that aesthetic and, at the same time, to ennoble the repertoire with strenght and expressiveness of unique characteristics.
In this occasion, Mauricio Díaz Álvarez, excellent guitarist and profound connoisseur of this repertoire, has used its own compositional skills to pay homage to Joaquín Malats creating this tribute that, embedded in those essences, projects brilliant ideas personalities from his exquisite musical sense and from Deep knowledge of possibilities of the guitar. It is a work that is born for the enjoyment of its execution and for the delight of who hears it.
