Musical fundamentals for adult beginners is designed to be used in conjunction with the Piano Course for adult beginners. The materials of theory, technique and musical reading at first sight are correlated unit by unit with the basic course. This book can also be used in conjunction with other piano methods.
The Theory part contains a combination of written exercises and piano harmony.
The Technique part is designed to develop hand and finger coordination and to acquire easy keyboard control. The dynamics and time should be suggested by the teacher. Transposition is indicated for some exercises; Additional transpositions are left to the discretion of the instructor.
The Musical Reading part provides additional reading to reinforce new concepts. The variety of experiences offered in music reading adds interest to learning. The student must make a brief analytical study before playing: 1) hitting or clapping the rhythm; 2) Observe the key, the armor and the compass number. While playing you must 1) keep your eyes on the music; 2) look forward to prepare what is coming; 3) continue without stopping. Transposition is left to the instructor's discretion.
