Pack of 20 particellas for choir.
It is well-known that throughout his life Pau Casals frequently performed the popular Catalan song El cant dels ocells which he imbued with his artistry, giving the melody a new character that it had not had previously.
Casals' profound identification with El cant dels ocells elevated the song into an anthem which is frequently used today throughout the world as a hymn for meditation in numerous public occasions.
As commented in another volume of this collection, Casals wrote his first version for cello and piano (1941), probably inspire by the nostalgia he felt in the first months of exile in France. He also worte a version for soprano and chorus (1942) and another version for cello and a cello orchestra (1960).
