The oboe itself with its special characteristics, its humour, its grace, its strength in staccato, its lyricism, its delicate technique ... has served me as a basis for defining the character of Danza-Scherzo.
After the brief introduction, the piano establishes an incisive dance rhythm which the oboe seconds as an inseparable companion that will follow it until the end of the day. The two instruments tease each other, creating a giocoso atmosphere, which defines the character of the work. In the central part, the oboe develops a cantilena with a somewhat nostalgic and evocative tone, which takes us to a different world, as to a sonorous reflection full of light... Like a stop on the way... After the third section of the scherzo, the work ends with a small coda that develops, with a conclusive character, the initial dance rhythm.
