Chez García Ramos -a vaguely nationalistic piece- forms part of the «Primera Etapa» collection, includes, also Suite moderna, Preludio nº 1, Momentos nº 1, El pinell de dalt, Ensayo a dos voces and Cadenza en homenaje a Frèderic Mompou, which contains music for the piano that composer wrote between 1961 and 1962, published by Editorial Boileau.
In 1961, in the company of this close friend, the painter August Puig, Joan Guinjoan visited García Ramo’s famous artistic-intellectual bar, whence he drew the inspiration for this work.
There is also a version of Chez García Ramos for the harpsichord dedicated to Mª Lluïsa Cortada, who transcribed the piece.
