Cristina’s relationship with music began singing with her family from a very early age.  From 1978 to 1985 while studying journalism, she studied solfege and voice in theAula de Musica Moderna y Jazz (Barcelona).

From 1985 to 1990 she studied voice, piano and composition at Berklee College of Music (Boston) graduating (Cum Laude) in composition and Film Scoring.  She studied vocals with Roberta Davies, Luz Bermejo (Boston) and Fernando Bañó(Barcelona).  In 1998 she studied composition and orchestration with Yuli Galpierin(Paris).  Cristina has sung jazz, tango and Latin American music.  She recorded her first CD (CBS Madrid) in 1980.  In 1988, she began to interpret her own compositions, both live and recorded in Boston, New England, New York (1988-1991) and in Paris (1997-2000).

Returning to Barcelona from the USA in 1992, Cristina combined her work as a singer and composer for dance (four ballets with the company NATS NUS), cinema ,T.V and her own songs, “COLLARES ENREDADOS” (Africa pcp) – 2001 – and later her opera “EL JARDÍN DE AL LADO” - 2005.

In Paris she recorded as solo singer and went on tour with the world famous group of electronic tango, GOTAN PROJECT (2001-2007).

As a duo with Gustavo Beytelmann on the piano, they performed a series of concerts of tango at Ronnie Scotts in London and also in Barcelona, Lerida, Girona and at the Club Freedom in Kiev (2004) where the critic said “…The best concert of the year. I feel sorry for those who missed it.  Great spirituality, emotive and musical sincerity…”.

She has continued singing tango in a duo with Gustavo Battaglia, Marcelo Mercadante and Lluis Vidal among others and in quartet in her latest project “SOMOS SUEÑOS” (revisited tango classics and original compositions- released in April 2008) which has already been presented in Barcelona, Athens and Istambul.
