The Trio "Le matin" was composed between July and August 2009. The title "Le matin" refers above all to the first movement "Espressivo". The movement floats in the air almost without rhythm. It is delicate and quiet. It is followed by a "Scherzo" which alternates molto marcato sections with legato episodes always keeping the 6/8 rhythm. Again there is the gentle atmosphere in the third movement, "Meditativo", composed of fragile harmonies supported by a steady rhythm of quarter notes in slurred form. Finally there is an "Allegro ostinato", this one with a certain studio character. Its energetic atmosphere is interrupted on two occasions by suspenseful and mysterious passages. A determined and energetic coda brings the work to an end.
