THE MATERIALS HAVE TO BE HIRED
The Barcelona Municipal Orchestra, conducted by Eduard Toldrà, premiered this work on May 28, 1948. The premiere was repeated in Madrid with the National Orchestra of Spain (March 1949), also with Toldrà as conductor.
Years later, the Barcelona City Orchestra, conducted by A. Ros Marbà reinterpreted Prelude, Aria and Gigue on March 21 and on 8 and 9 May, 1976. The same orchestra, conducted this time by Garcia Asensio, performed this piece on 21 and 22 January, 1984.
The Orquesta Sinfónica de Barcelona y Nacional de Catalunya performed this piece on 15 and 16 March, 1997. It was scheduled as a work for the concert to commemorate the Manuel Blancafort centenary of birth.
